Five-star Reggie Perry decommits from Arkansas

Rumors had been brewing that five-star forward Reggie Perry's commitment to Arkansas may be shaky.

The rumors reached a point that two weeks ago Perry's family released a statement saying that he had not decommitted from Arkansas.

Wednesday night, though, that all changed as multiple sources confirmed to Rivals.com that Perry -- who wasn't immediately available for comment -- has indeed back off of his commitment to Mike Anderson and Arkansas.

The loss of Perry is clearly a tough blow to the Razorbacks. He is already a versatile and tough five-star prospect who would have been a perfect fit for the the uptempo style in Fayetteville and he is set to make another move up in next week's update to the 2018 Rivals150.

It is still too early to know exactly which programs will be involved but it is reasonable to expect Perry to be prioritized by college basketball's best programs when he hits the Adidas circuit with the Arkansas Hawks next week.

One program that does jump out as one to keep an eye on, though, is Florida State. The Seminoles were heavily involved before Perry committed last summer and the Tallahassee campus is not far from Perry's home in Georgia.

Arkansas still holds commitments from four of Perry's summer teammates, power forward Ethan Henderson and guards Desi Sills and Isaiah Joe from the class of 2018 and class of 2019 point guard Justice Hill.
