THE RIVALS150: 2016 | 2017
As Wednesday's Signing Day approaches, 12 five-stars remain uncommitted. We take a look at every undecided five-star and make a prediction for their destination.
SG Josh Jackson, Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep, No. 1
Recruiting wrap: The nation's top player, Jackson has yet to take or set an official visit. He has been to Arizona unofficially and as a Detroit native he is also familiar with Michigan State. Kansas is heavy in the mix and Jackson has also been to Maryland. Bottom line, Jackson doesn't appear to be in any hurry to make a choice and it's likely too early to make a prediction.
Prediction: Too early to tell
PG De'Aaron Fox, Katy (Texas) Cypress Lakes, No. 5
Recruiting wrap: The top unsigned point guard in the country, Fox took official visits to Kansas, Kentucky, LSU and Louisville. He's set to decide on Thursday and the Wildcats have been considered the team to beat for a while.
Prediction: Kentucky
PF Thon Maker. Mono (Ontario) Athlete's Institute, 5-star
Recruiting wrap: Because Maker attends high school outside of the United States, he doesn't qualify for the Rivals150, but he's obviously a big-time talent. Notre Dame, Indiana and Arizona State have been the most active in the seven-footer's recruitment. He's unlikely to sign early.
Prediction: Arizona State
SG Malik Monk, Bentonville (Ark.) High, No. 6
Recruiting wrap: A super athletic wing scorer, Monk has visited nearby Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky and Oregon officially. As of now, he's not expected to make an early decision, but his recruitment has looked like a tight battle between the Hogs and the Wildcats.
Prediction: Too close to call between Arkansas and Kentucky
PF Bam Adebayo, High Point (N.C.) Christian, No. 7
Recruiting wrap: Adebayo has taken official visits to N.C. State and Kentucky and he has seen Auburn unofficially. He's yet to announce an actual decision date, but for now the feeling is that he will make an early decision and the Wolfpack are the team to beat.
Prediction: N.C. State
SG Rawle Alkins, Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God, No. 9
Recruiting wrap: Alkins has moved from New York City for his senior year of high school and appears to be in no rush to make a decision. Since his arrival at Word of God, he's seen the campuses of N.C. State and North Carolina and he's been on campus at St. John's multiple times.
Prediction: It's early, but N.C. State or St. John's
PF T.J. Leaf, El Cajon (Calif.) Foothills Christian, No. 15
Recruiting wrap: Formerly committed to Arizona, Leaf is a skilled scorer who has taken visits to and will decide between Oregon, San Diego State and UCLA. The Bruins have been the odds on favorite for a while now and Leaf will announce his decision Thursday.
Prediction: UCLA
PF Marques Bolden, DeSoto (Texas) High, No. 16
Recruiting wrap: Yet to set an announcement time, Bolden has taken official visits to Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma. He's also been to Alabama unofficially and TCU is somewhat in the mix. From the sounds of it, this one is a true tug of war and could go in any direction, but the Jayhawks sound like they may have gained some momentum and could hold the slightest of leads.
Prediction: Kansas
PG Kobi Simmons, Alpharetta (Ga.) St. Francis, No. 19
Recruiting wrap: After initially setting a September decision date and visiting Kentucky, Ohio State and UNLV officially, Simmons has decided to wait until the spring. If you are the Buckeyes or Rebels -- the two schools the decision appeared to be coming down to -- this has to make you a bit nervous. Simmons is looking open now.
Prediction: Too early to tell
PF Jarrett Allen, Austin (Texas) St. Stephens, No. 20
Recruiting wrap: Thanks to a flurry of visits that began in October, Allen has now seen the campuses of Houston, Kansas, Kentucky and Notre Dame officially. He's also been to nearby Texas in an unofficial capacity. Allen may be as difficult to get a read on as any prospect in the class and exactly when he'll decide remains a bit of a mystery.
Prediction: Houston or Kansas
PF Dewan Huell, Miami (Fla.) Norland, No. 23
Recruiting wrap: A blue collar post player who grinds and produces, Huell took official visits to Florida State, Miami and South Carolina. For a while it looked like the Seminoles would be the team to beat and they are still a strong option but the big man just might stay home.
Prediction: Miami (in a tight one)
C Udoka Azubuike, Jacksonville (Fla.) Potter's House, No. 27
Recruiting wrap: Azubuike has taken official visits to Florida State, Kansas, N.C. State and North Carolina. The Seminoles have always been considered the team to beat for the mammoth big man who destroys rims, but the Jayhawks are right there with them and there is a chance that where guys like Allen and Bolden pick could have an impact on what he decides to do.
Prediction: Florida State
