DAYTON, Ohio – Five-star Jordan Brown continues to sift through the recruiting process as one of the top available seniors. He has three official visits remaining after taking trips to UCLA and St. John’s and has seven schools in contention for his commitment.

One of the most skilled frontcourt prospects from the 2018 class, Brown has never been short for college interest since stepping foot onto a high school playing floor. A 6-foot-9 power forward with tremendous touch and abilities from 15-feet and in, the Prolific Prep product has a final seven of Cal, UCLA, St. John’s, Gonzaga, Oregon, Nevada and Louisiana-Lafayette.

“Things are going well right now. It is still the same seven schools. I am just kind of waiting and letting it play out,” he said.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

St. John’s (on J’Raan Brooks and his recent commitment): “They haven’t talked to me about it yet but they are still recruiting me the same way. We do know each other. We played on the same team at adidas Nations so we have a good relationship there.”

UCLA: “It was a cool visit. It was my first time in the major part of LA and being able to see all of that and the campus was nice.”

Lafayette: “That would be kind of cool to play there and to carry on my dad’s legacy because he just got inducted into the hall of fame and it would be kind of cool to just carry it on.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Brown is in no rush to make a college commitment as all seven remain in the mix for his decision. No visits are set yet, though there are two that could be in line for one in the not-so-distant future.

“I might go and check out my dad’s old school, Lafayette, and probably go up to Gonzaga at one point,” he said. “The delay is really just trying to find an open space since I am traveling with my team. Whenever I find an open time between traveling, I can go and take some visits.”

RIVALS' REACTION

The thought surrounding Brown for the past several months was that the he would stay in the West and attend UCLA or California. This could still be in the cards, but the other five on his list should not be discounted. Brown could decide to team up with Brooks in Queens, continue his family’s lineage at Louisiana-Lafayette, become the next skilled big man to enroll at Gonzaga, or make the decision that Oregon or Nevada is the best spot for him.

Whichever the case, a commitment does not seem to be on the agenda any time soon as it looks as if things are trending toward a spring decision and signing with the five-star senior.
