One of 2020's elite scorers, five-star guard Jaden Springer is seeing his recruitment ramp up quickly.

Though he only recently finished up his sophomore season at Charlotte (N.C.) Rocky River, the 6-foot-4 guard who ranks No. 18 nationally has already racked up offers from UCLA, Maryland, South Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Old Dominion, Tennessee and Kansas State, among others, while interest has come in from North Carolina and Kentucky.

So, what's the fuss all about?

"I feel like I'm a great defender," he said. "I take pride in being great defensively. I can get to the basket and finish but I need to work on extending my range. I feel like I'm a pretty good three-point shooter but for the next level I need to be better."

With double-digit offers from high-major programs, Springer is feeling lots of love but he hasn't yet found specific programs that stick out to him.

"I know that Wake Forest and NC State and Maryland and schools like that have been on me real hard," Springer said. "I've been seeing them a lot but there's not one school that is really standing out just yet."

One thing that Springer has been very good about is visiting the programs showing interest. He's already seen Kentucky, North Carolina, NC State, Maryland, Georgetown, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wake Forest. Often times when a player takes that many early visits, it's indicative of wanting to make an early decision.

Not the case, said Springer, who is in no rush but wants to feel out his options as thoroughly as possible as he prepares to hit the grassroots circuit for Bobby Maze Elite of the Under Armour Association.

"I'm looking to see if the program is a place that is going to make me mature as a basketball player," said Springer. "Are they going to help me improve my game and make me tougher? I don't want it to be easy. I want them to really push me to be the best player I can be.

"I'm really going to take my time and wait it out. I need to check all of my options."
