The LSU Tigers continue to add elite high school talent under

Johnny Jones. Friday, they added the No. 13 player in the class of 2015
when shooting guard Antonio Blakeney announced he would play his
college ball in Baton Rouge.
A 6-foot-4 shooting guard at Orlando (Fla.)
Oak Ridge, Blakeney is a big time scorer and joins a class that already includes
2015's top player, power forward Ben Simmons.
"It's really just
my relationship with coach Jones and DP (assistant David Patrick)," Blakeney
told Rivals.com of picking LSU. "The plan they have for the basketball program
is something I want to be a part of.
"They are already changing the
culture at 11-2. I really want to be a part of that."
Blakeney's calling
card is his ability to use the dribble to set up jump shot shooting
opportunities. His mid range game is top notch and he has the size and
athleticism to finish near the rim.
"I think I can be an elite player to
come into the program and help out right away," said Blakeney. "With me and Ben
and all of the other elite players they already have we can make things happen.
It's no secret that talent makes a program and coach Jones knows how to use all
of that talent the right way."
Having played with Simmons during the
summer on the loaded Each 1 Teach 1 travel squad, Blakeney is excited about the
chance to continue playing with 2015's top ranked player.
"I know how
good he is," said Blakeney. "It's crazy because the good thing about how good he
is that he's still unselfish at the same time. That definitely weighed into my
decision."
After originally committing to Louisville in the
Fall, Blakeney had planned to wait until the spring to make his college choice.
However, LSU won him over and he didn't see any need to drag things out any
further.
"I think it's time to focus on getting better," said Blakeney.
"I was just ready to get the college decision out of the way. The more you think
about it, it can really mess up your head and since I had a pretty good idea of
what I wanted to do I decided to just get it done with."
