Five-star Emmitt Williams down to three

TAMPA, Fla. – Three programs remain in the mix for five-star Emmitt Williams as he nears the end of his official visit tour.

“I am down to a final three of LSU, Oregon and Florida. Everyone has been in contact and no one is really standing out right now,” he said. “I have my next visit set up to Florida on (Jan.) 26 to 28; I am very excited and I cannot wait.”

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Florida: “It was one of my first offers and you have to respect them since I am from Florida, so it is just common sense.”

LSU: “They are just saying that I can be the final piece, but you never know; everyone is telling you this and that but I am just leaving it up to God.

“The people there are great. When I was on my official visit there, I had a great time and I can definitely see myself in their jersey.”

Oregon : “It doesn’t really matter how far I go away from home but it is more about who is going to be able to help me out get to the next level.

“They have been comparing me to Jordan Bell and telling me that we play just alike but as a freshman coming in, I am more knowledgeable to the game.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

William will complete his last planned official visit to Florida this weekend.

No commitment date is set yet, though it does look as if his college recruitment is coming to a close.

RIVALS' REACTION

Williams has been a heavily coveted prospect throughout the majority of his high school playing career thanks to his interior domination, high-motor abilities and willingness to compete on each possession.

Oregon and Florida remain in contention, though LSU has seemingly gained a lot of momentum in Williams' recruitment.
