Five-star down to four finalists

One of the top remaining prospects on the board in the class of 2012 is Alex Poythress.
A five-star forward from Clarksville (Tenn.) Northeast, the 6-foot-8 senior is down to a final four of Florida, Kentucky, Memphis and Vanderbilt.

Before speaking about what he likes about each school, Poythress broke down how each school's decision to recruit him as a small forward has made an impression on him.
"All four of these schools these are recruiting me at the three position," Poythress told Rivals.com. "It's important because that's not just what I want to play in college but at the next level after that."
To date, the athletic senior has only visited Vanderbilt officially. He'll check out Florida this weekend before visiting Kentucky for their Midnight Madness on the weekend of Oct. 14. His final trip will be to Memphis the weekend after his Kentucky visit.
Heading into his final three visits, Poythress broke down what he likes about each program.
Florida- "I like how Florida and coach Donovan use their wings. They are an uptempo team. They've developed a lot of their players over the years and are good at player development in terms of skill."
Kentucky- "They are one of the top teams of all time. Coach Cal is a good coach, he gets the best players and they are team that wins and gets guys to the NBA. It is a great basketball school with a great fan base."
Memphis- "They are another that has been recruiting me for a long time. I like how Memphis is an uptempo team and I really like how Memphis is a basketball city."
Vanderbilt- "They've been recruiting me for a very long time. I've got good relationships with most of the players and the coaches and they are a very good academic school."
When asked what type of impact he sees himself making as a college freshman and beyond, Poythress said that his effort level can be a boost.
"I just try to go out and play hard every time, I think that's my strength," said the five-star forward. "I think as an overall player with my size and my ability, I think that I can help any of these schools right away."
Ranked No. 19 nationally in the 2012 Rivals150, Poythress doesn't have an exact time for when he would like to make his decision, but it should come before the early signing period starts.
"I'm not sure when I'll make my decision," said Poythress. "It will probably be based on the school I feel most comfortable and where is the best fit with everything."
