WESTFIELD, Ind. -- One of the top sophomores in the country, five-star point guard Cole Anthony has an extra advantage over many of his classmates. He's able to pick the brain of his father Greg Anthony who won a National Championship at UNLV before playing 12 seasons in the NBA.

An explosive playmaker who loves to attack the rim, Anthony -- who ranks No. 8 nationally in the class of 2019 -- realizes how valuable a resource his father can be.

"He's given me a lot of advice and honestly it's just been a blessing to have him as a resource that a lot of people don't have," Anthony told Rivals.com. "I just try to take all the knowledge I can get from him."

With five-star status and a famous father, people are always putting a microscope on Anthony's performance. Playing in the Nike EYBL with the PSA Cardinals it's something that he embraces.

"It feels pretty good to have that much responsibility on my shoulders," said Anthony. "I know it means I have a lot of people depending on my but I like that pressure. It makes the game more fun and I feel like it's making me a better player."

Anthony and his family have chosen not to publicly discuss his recruitment at this point so it's tough to know who is actually recruiting him. St. John's, Wake Forest and some others have been said to be involved and Anthony played in front of several coaches the last two weekends. Though he doesn't talk about the specific ones watching him, he does like seeing them on the sideline.

"It's nice to have them out here because again, it adds more pressure to play well but honestly I'm not too worried about (recruiting) right now," said Anthony. "I'm out here trying to win games and ultimately we want to win Peach Jam so that's all I'm focused on right now."

While he's not talking specifics, Anthony has seen St. John's and he's also been on a trip to Maryland with his high school team and plans to start discussing his recruitment more as a junior.

"It was just a fun trip with the team and there wasn't really any tours or anything like that," said Anthony of the trip with his team to Maryland. "I was just there with my guys and hanging out with them and it was just a good time.

"I think by next year maybe I'll start to get into the recruiting process a little more."
