It has been a process for five-star big man Elijah Thomas, but now the rising senior is down to a final group of six schools.

A 6-foot-9 power forward at Lancaster (Texas) High who currently ranks No. 11 in the class of 2015, Thomas decided it was time to cut things down. He has also set his first two official visits.
"After talking with my family and coaches I'm ready to release my final six college choices," Thomas told Rivals.com. "Texas A&M, LSU, Illinois, SMU, Oklahoma State and UNLV.
I have two officials planned to Oklahoma State (9/13) and Illinois (9/20). At the end of the week I will know the last three that I plan to take."
Due to a hand injury, Thomas missed most of the spring and summer grassroots season. He was able to return to the floor during July and hit the live period events. A low post player who specializes in getting position on the low block and then holding it, Thomas has soft hands and good touch around the rim. Over the weekend at Adidas Nations, Thomas looked to be getting his timing back and was the closest to his pre-injury form that he had been since returning to the floor.
According to Thomas getting his list cut has relieved quite a bit of stress and he's looking forward to taking visits and making a decision.
"I plan on deciding in November and the official visits will have a huge impact," said Thomas. "Because it will show me the way the players live and the way they are treated and how much fan support they have."
