First domino falls: E.J. Montgomery opens recruitment

The first recruiting domino that can be traced to the arrest of four college basketball assistants and corruption charges leveled by the federal government fell on Tuesday morning.

Five-star power forward E.J. Montgomery has de-committed from Auburn, several sources close to the situation confirmed to Rivals.com.

A skilled faceup four man who can run the floor, Montgomery initially committed to Bruce Pearl and the Tigers a little over a year ago and was their only commitment in the 2018 class.

For now, Montgomery is open to all comers and had offers from the likes of Georgia Tech, Florida State, N.C. State, Florida and many others.
