Final Visit For Shaun Pruitt

Shaun Pruitt is nearing the final stage of his recruitment. The 6-foot-8, 220-pound power forward from West Aurora High School in Aurora, IL., has scheduled an official visit to Michigan State and, if all goes as planned, will end his recruitment shortly after the visit is complete.
It’s likely that coaches from Michigan State and Illinois will schedule in-home visits with Pruitt within the next few weeks.

“It looks like I’ll take an official visit to Michigan State on the weekend after Labor Day weekend,” Pruitt. “There is a small chance that I could take an unofficial visit to Michigan State, but school starts August 25, so it’s not likely.”
Unless something drastic or out of the ordinary happens, this is a two team race for Pruitt. Everybody close to him as an opinion in terms of what school he should attend, but Pruitt isn’t hearing any of that. When the time comes for a decision to be made, he will do what’s best for him.
“The people around me say I should attend Illinois, but I don’t have any favorites right now,” Pruitt said. “I like both schools and I can tell selecting a school will be a difficult process.
“Both schools have done a great job recruiting me,” he added. “Illinois and Michigan State are both great programs, but there will be a time when I must make a decision and the time is nearing.”
Pruitt plans to pick a school shortly after returning home from his visit to Michigan State. The final decision could ultimately end up favoring Illinois, the hometown school.
If the decision becomes too difficult for Pruitt, playing close to home could be the deciding factor.
Rivals.com ranks Pruitt No. 76 on the Rivals150 list and the 19th best power forward in the class of 2004.
