According to a source familiar with Ferguson's situation, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Providence and Rutgers are the schools keeping in touch with Ferguson (pictured right) this spring.
After attending Milford Academy last year, the 6-2 combo guard sat out this year in an effort to get his test score. The source said that Ferguson has a 2.695 GPA and only needs to get a 17 on the ACT or an 820 on the SAT. Now Ferguson has met those requirements.
A native of Hempstead, N.Y., Ferguson first attained notoriety playing for the Long Island Panthers a few years ago. He played with both the Panthers and the Jersey Shore Cyclones last year while attending Milford Academy.
While at Milford, Ferguson was able to improve his core grades, but he was unable to get his test score. There were rumblings in the fall that he would attend St. Thomas More in Montville, Conn., but that did not materialize.
We'll keep you posted on Ferguson's situation in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
