Favorite in Big Ten for 2006 Maguire

Three-star 2006 prospect Dustin Maguire is receiving interest from some top high major programs. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound wing player from Civic Memorial in East Alton, Ill., does not have a set school list, but he has taken one unofficial visit and has a leader in the Big Ten.
“I’m interested in the schools showing me interest, which are UConn, Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Clemson, St. Louis and Nebraska,” said Maguire. “Right now, I’d say Purdue is my leader. St. Louis has been by to see me work out. The other schools said they will come watch one of my games."

Strong interest from a Big Ten school has Purdue at the top of Maguire’s list right now.
"They seem the most interested,” he said. “They are sending a lot of hand written letters. I also like thet they are in the Big Ten."
More important than playing time, playing for a great program is Maguire’s top goal.
"I want to play wherever I go, but I want to play at the best possible school,” he said. “I don’t want to settle.”
This fall McGuire unofficially visited another Big Ten school and in-state school Illinois.
"I had a chance to watch practice and go to a football game against Michigan,” he said. “They have a really nice campus and nice practice facilities. They said they would be at a few of my games this year."
As a sophomore, Maguire averaged 20 points per game as Civic Memorial went 25-5 on won a conference title for the first time in 25 years. Maguire also finished as the 11th best scorer at this summers ABCD Camp.
