Faulkner says yes to Radford

Evan Faulkner, a 6-foot-1 combo guard from Elliott County (Ky.) High School, verbally committed to Radford last week.
Faulkner said he built a strong bond with head coach Brad Greenberg and looks forward to playing at the Big South Conference school next year.

"The coaches and I really developed a good relationship. When I went there on my visit, I felt a real good comfort level there with the college and the whole community," Faulkner said. "It's a good college town. I felt like it was the right decision to make."
The Bluegrass State star has the tools to play both backcourt positions and that versatility, Faulkner says, should give the team an advantage as he meshes with the post players.
"He's going to have me play the point guard and hopefully I'll make the smooth transition from the shooting guard to the point guard," Faulkner said. "They have one of the best frontcourts in college basketball and from talking to him, they need some shooters. Hopefully I can help them with that and take some of the double teams off the big guys."
Faulkner wasn't the only player to commit Radford last week. West Jefferson (N.C.) Ashe County forward Tommy Spagnolo also pledged to the program.
