FAU double dips this weekend

At the end of the day, Gainesville (Fla.) guard Greg Gantt wanted to be a part of something new and different. That's why he committed to Florida Atlantic on Sunday. The 6-foot-3 guard from the Sunshine State is off the board.
Gantt visited Florida Atlantic over the weekend and decided to put an end to his recruitment

"It's a great atmosphere there at the school and with their players. It fit me academically, too. Plus, I'll have a chance to play with one of the most renowned coaches in college basketball in Mike Jarvis. I feel like they are building something special with their program," Gantt said.
There was another reason behind his decision, too, Gantt says.
"Matt McCall, one of their assistants. I'm really close with him," Gantt said. "He was a Florida and I've known him since I was 10 years old. He worked me out when I was younger and then he was the first guy to recruit me at FAU. He's a great guy and a great role model for me."
Gantt said he enjoyed watching Jarvis in action this weekend during the team's practice session.
"Coach Jarvis is a no nonsense guy. I watched them in practice and he was on his guys. He wants them to be successful and he's going to make sure you do what you are supposed to," Gantt said. "I'm expecting good things this year from them and then even better the next year."
Gantt wasn't the only player to commit to FAU this weekend. Orlando (Fla.) Olympia wing Jordan McCoy committed to the Owls, too.
