This weekend could have a big impact on the future of several teams across the country, especially in the SEC.
Three top-25 uncommitted prospects will be on SEC campuses this weekend, including the nation's top prospect as Greg Monroe is set to see LSU. The next few days could also go a long way towards making or breaking the Tennessee class as three prospects ranked among the top 60 will be on campus together.
Rivals.com looks at the weekend's action in the latest version of Fastbreak Friday.
Clemson has a long list of prospects in town for the Virginia Tech football game Saturday. Oliver Purnell and his staff welcome 2009 commitment Devin Booker, the younger brother of current Tigers big man Trevor Booker, and a couple of his AAU teammates.
In-state prospects Khris Middleton, a 6-foot-5 shooter, Quinton Thomas, a skilled 6-4 guard, and Robbie Dreher, a combo guard from Greenville, will join Booker for the weekend.
Also at Clemson are North Carolina youngsters Jarell Eddie, a talented 6-6 forward and Bernard Sullivan - a class of 2011 prospect from North Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte.
Class of 2009 guard DeMario Mayfield out of Franklin County, Ga., is picking up steam with the high-majors. He visited Georgia last week and is at Clemson this weekend.
• Big man Reginald Johnson will make his first official visit to a high-major school this weekend when he heads to Miami. He has already visited VCU.
• North Carolina is the latest stop for big man Ryan Kelly, a big forward from Raleigh, N.C.
A trio of players in the top 60 in the national rankings will be in Knoxville for an official visit during Georgia-Tennessee football weekend.
In-state prospect Elliot Williams, a five-star guard from Memphis, will be joined by Chris Singleton - a player the Vols have invested a lot of time in - and Renaldo Woolridge, a skilled wing from California. The weekend is the biggest of the year for the Vols. All three players are major targets and incredibly high on the recruiting board for Tennessee.
• Making his first official visit of the fall is Greg Monroe, the nation's top overall player. Monroe will spend 48 hours on LSU's campus this weekend. Monroe has a trip planned next weekend to Georgetown, while Duke, Connecticut and Texas also are on his short list.
• Alabama is going big for the weekend. Texas center J'Mison Morgan and in-state forward Xavier Gibson are scheduled for official visits to Tuscaloosa. Morgan is the second-best uncommitted college-bound center prospect in the nation; Gibson is one of the top five uncommitted power forwards in the nation.
The New York area always has been good to DePaul, and the Blue Demons hope that continues this weekend. Top-50 prospect Mookie Jones is making his first trip to DePaul for an official visit.
• There is a strong Big East flavor to Canadian guard Devoe Joseph's recruitment. This weekend, he's scheduled for a trip to Connecticut; he already has been to St. John's.
• New Jersey guard Tyshawn Taylor is off to Marquette for an official visit this weekend.
Illinois is focusing its efforts on in-state big man Stan Simpson out of powerful Chicago Simeon.
• Working on signing another big man, Minnesota plays host to Chicago power forward Josh Crittle.
• Purdue will play host to underclassmen Justin Martin and D'Mitri Riggs.
Kansas State is staying local for the weekend. In-state prospect Garrett Stutz, a hot name in the class of 2008, will come in for an unofficial visit. Stutz, a 6-foot-10 center, has enjoyed a busy and productive fall so far. Also in Manhattan for the weekend is Jeff Reid, a class of 2009 prospect. His brother, Josh, played at Kansas State.
• Texas A&M is playing host to class of 2009 shooter Marshall Henderson out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
UCLA is playing host to a pair of top 40 juniors in in-state forward Reeves Nelson and Las Vegas guard Elijah Johnson.
Xavier will play host to three committed prospects from its talented four-man recruiting class. Four-star post man Kenny Frease and three-star guards Brad Redford and Brian Walsh will make the trip to Cincinnati.
• Florida Atlantic could score a big one this weekend as Dago Pena, a Rivals150 player, makes his way to Boca Raton.
• Northeastern big man Andrew Van Nest is headed south to see Davidson, in North Carolina.
• Georgia forward J.C. Ward will make a visit to East Tennessee State of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
• Class of 20009 guard Anthony Marshall, a Las Vegas product, will unofficially visit Colorado State.
• Colorado native Devon Manning won't be going far as he visits Air Force.
• Hot mid-major target Chris Cooper, a 6-8 forward from Virginia, is tripping to Temple.
• Ronnie Moss, a Texas native now at prep school, is scheduled for a visit to Kent State.
• Tennessee Tech has two important prospects on campus this weekend in Georgia guard Ebuka Anyaroah and Nashville wing Kevin Giltner.
