Patrick Ewing, Jr., a 6-7 forward from National Christian Academy, committed to Indiana yesterday, according to a published report by Peegs.com.
Ewing Jr. showed this season that he was making strides in all parts of his game. He had been working hard to make the transition from the power forward to wing forward position. Ewing, 220-pounds, is agile enough to glide past defenders. It seemed this is where he did his best work at scoring points.
The son of sure to be future NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, Ewing Jr. is an intriguing prospect because of his ability to play both inside and out. Ewing, Jr. was recently in New York City as the Knicks honored his dad, whose number 33 jersey was retired.
Besides Indiana, several other teams were expressing serious interest in his recruiting process at one time, including Texas, Louisville, and Memphis.
The younger Ewing has been selected to participate in the Jordan Capital Classic Regional Game on Thursday, April 17th, 2003, at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.
