During the summer, anybody who saw D.J. Balentine play could see that he would be a great fit for the Missouri Valley Conference.
Sure enough, MVC schools spent much of the summer following him and the 6-foot-1 combo guard from Kokomo (Ind.) High.

Recently, Balentine narrowed his choices down to Evansville, Missouri State and Indiana State with plans to officially visit all three. But, after a visit to Evansville a little over a week ago things changed.
Late Sunday, word began to circulate that Balentine was a done deal to Evansville and he confirmed that news on local sports talk radio Monday.
As a junior, Balentine led his team to a state championship appearance and then during the summer he was impressive with the Eric Gordon Stars. While not the quickest guy in the gym, he's always among the smartest and is a lights out jump shooter with deep range.
