Evans will sign with Big Ten school

Ryan Evans, a 6-foot-6, 185-pound forward from Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz., is trading the desert for the frozen tundra.
Evans verbally committed to the Wisconsin Badgers on Monday.

"Coach Bo Ryan, he's the best. He continues to do his thing every year. I'm just ready to get out there," Evans told the Wisconsin State Journal. "I'm a team player, and I think I'll fit in good with all the kids there."
A relative unknown, Evans saw his recruitment bolster after his senior year. He officially visited the Big Ten school at the beginning of March and also had interest from Illinois, Portland State and Pepperdine.
He averaged 19.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a senior, according to the paper.
Evans joins Jared Berggren, Jordan Taylor, Ian Markolf and Robert Wilson in the 2008 recruiting class for the Badgers. Wisconsin already had a pair of pledges in 2009 from Mike Bruesewitz and Diamond Taylor.
