Evans to Prep School

Tyree Evans, the No. 24 shooting guard in the Rivals150 from George Wythe High School in Richmond, Virginia, is planning to attend Hargrave Military Academy next year whether he qualifies academically or not.
“I plan on taking the test again in March,” said the 6-foot-2, 170-pound shooting guard. “Even if I pass the test, I’m going to Hargrave Military Academy.”

Evans is still considering the same group of schools he has been listing for some time.
“Right now the schools I’m most interested in are Georgia, Clemson, Cincinnati, and Penn State,” he said. “I don’t have a leader. I just want to go to a place where I’ll get to play early.”
According to Evans, he is averaging 31 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals per game and is playing well despite some areas where he could improve.
“I’m playing pretty good this year,” he said. “I need to work on seeing the floor better and going to the hoop with my left hand.... My defense is twice as good as it was last year.”
