Evans and his Ballerz on the rise

The Midstate Ballerz have made some noise early in the travel season, and a lot of their success stems from the play of three-star prospect Brandon Evans. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound shooting guard from Liberty Tech High School in Jackson, Tenn., might be undersized, but he is well built and athletic. On top of that he knows how to score points, and two ACC schools have already extended offers to him.
"Brandon has received offers from Virginia Tech and Florida State," said Midstate Ballerz head coach Jeremy Schulman. "He is also getting heavy interest from Mississippi State and Tennessee, and he has a bunch of mid-major offers."

The Ballerz made a deep run in the Real Deal on the Hill before losing to rival Memphis Pump N Run 77-74 in overtime. The Ballerz controlled the game, leading by as much as double digits in the second half, until Willie Kemp took over for the Pump N Run squad during the waning minutes of regulation. Ironically enough, at the Pump N Run Classic in Memphis the weekend before, Kemp, playing alongside Evans, helped the Midstate Ballerz upset the talent laden Memphis Pump N Run squad, whom Kemp now plays for.
The Ballerz have also had impressive wins over the DC Assault and the Michigan Hurricanes this spring.
Limited in size as a shooting guard and not quite the ball handler to run the point, Evans is a dynamic enough scorer and athletic competitor to make him a high major prospect.
"Brandon is a true sleeper on the National circuit," said Schulman. "He has a division one ready body, unbelievable athleticism, and is a pure shooter. Though a bit undersized for a high-major shooting guard, Brandon makes up for it with his
outside shot and athletic ability. Brandon is also a great kid, and has an intense work ethic."
