Evaluations From Five Star Camp

The following are some brief looks at some of the top players at this past weekend's Five Star event. These evaluations are not necessarily the opinion of the Insiders Report ...
Mark Hepner – Woodstock, VA - A two-time NBA All-Star in Hampden-Sydney, Mark is the perfect clean up guy. He gets his points off putbacks. Mark does a good job at the intangibles of the game. He goes after loose balls, he gets the tough rebound, etc.

Michael Woodard – Fairburn, GA – Michael did a great job of distributing throughout the week. Coach Floyd McRae has to be happy with Michael running the show for Creekside. Michael sometimes shows frustration on the court.
Marcus Hammond – Memphis, TN - Marcus found his stroke in the All-Star game. He has a great upside with his ability to finish plays.
Richard Damus – Port St. Lucie, FL – Richard uses his long arms and athletic ability to get his hands on a lot of balls.
Ron Spears – Richmond, VA – Ron was a late addition to the week and really proved that he belonged with his ability to shoot. Look for Ron to have a breakout year in the Richmond Metro area.
Howard Bridgers – Wilson, NC – Harold was the Most Outstanding Player in the week, where he used his size to outmuscle the competition. He has incredible hands but is undersized to play the low block at the highest level.
Tanner Ogden – Fork Union, VA – Tanner lit up the all-star game with three consecutive three pointers. The brother of Chris Ogden, Tanner will be closely watched as he does a post graduate year with Coach Fletcher Artist. As we all know, Coach Artist gets the most out of his players, and I expect Tanner to be no different.
Ricky Lucas –Rockville, MD – The star of the week. He played the point at Hampden-Sydney and will be a great addition to Monitors Christian. He shoots the ball well and just finds a way to score. His work ethic is incredible and that may take him to the highest level of college basketball.
Jarred Outing - Miami, FL – Jarred needs a desire to dominate games, but can be a stud if he gets that killer instinct. He seems to always be around the ball and makes the play that is needed for his team.
