Previously, it appeared that both players might wind up at Mt. Zion Christian Academy in Durham. So in the Triangle it will still be, but Bonner instead of Mt. Zion.
Winchester, a lanky yet explosive 6-3 combo/shooting guard, played the last few seasons at Marist H.S. in Bayonne, N.J. He is a native of Stamford, Conn.
Davis, a long 6-9 power forward from Philadelphia, attended Camden H.S. in Camden, N.J. during the 2000-2001 school year.
Both players will be looking to complete their senior years at Bonner in 2001-2002 as well as finish up their academic requirements as mandated by the NCAA.
Davis and Winchester played this past summer for Salmon's traveling program. Winchester played on the T5T Gold squad, which reached the championship game of the adidas Big Time Tournament before falling to the Long Island Panthers.
Davis played on the T5T Red squad, or "second" team. That squad was eliminated a bit earler from the Big Time Tournament.
Should anything change regarding Davis and Winchester's status, we will let you know in the coming weeks.
