Eric Ayala remains in the 2018 class, cuts list to nine

What could have been the last major domino to fall within the 2017 recruiting class, Eric Ayala will instead remain as a class of 2018 prospect. The top-100 guard will enroll at IMG Academy this fall and while his recruitment remains open, he has settled on a cut list of nine.

A tough, versatile and well-rounded prospect that has grown into the point guard position, Ayala has seemingly won at each realm of play, both on the travel circuit, and on the high school platform.

Following his second straight championship with the We R1 unit on the Under Armour Associate circuit, Ayala decided that it was in his best interest to wait out the process. “It will just give me more time to make an educated decision. I felt like if I would have went to 2017, I would have rushed the decision,” he said about remaining in the 2018 class. “I feel ready physically and mentally but I want to make sure everything is right before committing to a school.”

No visits have been set yet and a college decision could occur prior to the early signing period, or it could wait until the spring. However, Ayala has cut his list down to a group of nine.
