Eggleston makes the call

It didn't take long for Jack Eggleston to make a decision about his future. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., took official visits to American, Lafayette and Pennsylvania. Eggleston recently put an end to his recruitment.
"I am real excited about my decision to attend Pennsylvania," said Eggleston. "I decided on Wednesday night, and I couldn't be any happier with my decision. I was actually leaning towards American, but just felt great about Pennsylvania.

"Attending Pennsylvania will challenge me basketball wise and academically," he added. "There was a time when I didn't think this would ever happen. The new coaching staff at Pennsylvania didn't see me much this summer, but it worked out for the best."
Just when it looked like Eggleston would decide between American and Lafayette, Pennsylvania came through with a scholarship offer late in the recruiting process. It's no secret that the talented power forward has been extremely high on Penn for a long period of time.
However, it appeared that the new coaching staff at Pennsylvania would ultimately decide to look in a different direction, and Eggleston was prepared to do the same. Once he returned home from his official visit, it was clear that Pennsylvania was the team to beat.
"I am set academically to attend Pennsylvania," said Eggleston. "I got my SAT II test back last week, so I'm good to go. I just need to fill out my application and send it to Pennsylvania. I plan to do that by the end of the week.
"Now that I have made my decision, I can focus on the upcoming season," he added. "Our first game of the year is on November 21. We return all of our key players, but we're still a young team that isn't very deep."
