East coast point guard still available

There are fewer and fewer top prospects still available with the late signing period beginning tomorrow. Point guard Brian Johnson, of Mt. Saint Joseph's High School in Baltimore, Md., is one of those prospects who is still available. With several mid-major offers already in hand, Johnson, 5-foot-11, 175-pounds, will play in a couple events this month with the Baltimore Stars AAU club.
'Brian has offers from Akron, Ohio U, Murray State, Kent State and Wright State," said Baltimore Stars coach Duane Davis. "Providence recently called, and they are interested. He's also getting interest from Wagner and Fordham."

Johnson, who specializes in setting up his teammates and defending the ball, has a strong endorsement from Coach Davis.
"I think Brian is the best unsigned point guard in the country," said Davis. "He handles the ball well and can really see the floor. He is a true pass first point guard. He's good on both ends of the floor. He usually guards bigger players and more than holds his own. Brian can change gears at the drop of the hat."
Scheduled to play in the Charlie Weber event this weekend and then in Dallas, Texas, the following weekend, Johnson is only going to get better according to Coach Davis.
"I think the thing he needs the most work on is his three-point jumper off the dribble," said Davis. He's a hard worker and whoever gets him is getting a good one."
