Dustin Brown Has Some D-1 Looks

Dustin Brown, a ruggedly built 6-7 combination forward from the St. Thomas More School in Montville, Conn., has a pair of West Coast schools evaluating him this winter.
STM Head Coach Jere Quinn told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that San Francisco and Loyola Marymount are highly interested in Brown, who hails from San Raphael, Calif.

In fact, USF sent an assistant coach to watch Brown play recently. In addition to the two West Coast teams, James Madison is also looking at Brown.
Brown is a bouncy athlete blessed with a solid upper body. He had an impressive alley-oop slam in the Chancellors' victory over Air Force Prep on Saturday at the Army Prep Invitational. He also showed the ability to knock down the short-midrange jumper from the perimeter.
While Brown can't handle the ball very well, the fact that he can face the basket a bit could make him a three man down the road if he can improve the other perimeter facets of his game.
Brown is a full qualifier academically who initially committed to Albany (NY) out of high school, but instead opted to attend prep school this year. That might have been a good stroke of fortune, since Albany fired its head coach [Scott Beeten] in December.
This past summer, Brown played with Steve Cotton's Next Level program at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
