Dupree Fletcher Will Sign Late
Dupree Fletcher had originally planned to sign his National Letter of Intent during the early signing period, which takes place during the month of November, but those plans have changed. The 5-foot-11, 178-pound point guard from King High School in Milwaukee, WI., hopes his stock will rise during his senior year. Rutgers, Baylor and Wisconsin Green Bay are the schools showing a great deal of interest in Fletcher at this time.

“I was scheduled to visit Rutgers this weekend (October 31), but the visit date has changed,” Fletcher said. “I will now officially visit the campus during the weekend of November 7th. No other visits have been scheduled at this time.
“Rutgers, Baylor and Wisconsin Green Bay are the schools recruiting me the hardest at this point,” he added. “There was a time when Illinois State was really recruiting me hard, but they received another commitment from a player at my position.”
It has been a hectic year for Fletcher, but he has put all that behind him and is ready to make the most out of his final year of high school. There was a time when it looked like Fletcher was a lock to attend Ohio State. He loved the team, coaching staff, players and campus life.
Despite the relationship Fletcher had established with the Ohio State coaching staff, they ended up taking another player at the guard position, so Fletcher would have to reconsider his options, which has not been an easy task.
“I’m just hoping more schools take notice of me during my senior year,” Fletcher said. “I plan on signing during the late period, so I’m in no rush to make a decision about what school I will attend. Rutgers, Baylor and Wisconsin Green Bay are the only schools showing a great deal of interest in me right now, but I’m hoping that other schools get involved in my recruitment.”
Rivals.com ranks Fletcher No. 115 on the Rivals150 list and the 21st best point guard in the class of 2004.
