Duke transfer Jordan Tucker headed to Butler

Former top-75 wing and Duke freshman transfer Jordan Tucker has committed to Butler, sources tell Rivals. A high lauded prospect from New York, Tucker brings tremendous versatility and comes in the mold of prior standouts at Butler that fill the coveted small ball power forward role. Tucker will enroll this week and be eligible after the 2018 fall semester.

A 6-foot-7 small forward that can play a variety of positions and on both sides of the floor, Tucker took his original recruitment into the spring of his senior year before committing to Duke over Syracuse on May 13, 2017.

Tucker appeared in just two games this season. He played 14 minutes in all, scoring a career high six against St. Francis (PA), his final contest in a Duke uniform.

Butler head coach Lavall Jordan is hoping Tucker may be able to find his footing in Indianapolis with the upcoming departure of Kelan Martin, a giant void that will need to be filled immediately next year.

Tucker is most valued for his shot making skills and ability to score the ball against a set defense. During his senior summer on the Nike circuit, Tucker averaged over 14 points and four rebounds per contest, while knocking in close to 40 percent of his three-point attempts.
