Duke Shows Class With Humphries

Kris Humphries, a 6-foot-8, 220-pounder from Hopkins H.S. in Minnetonka, Minn., has asked for and was given a release by the Duke basketball program.

RivalsHoops.com first could not confirm this with Kris' dad in a telephone interview this afternoon. Kris' dad first denied that it was true and stated it was only a rumor. However, "the rumor" surfaced on many internet sites, starting early this morning. The Duke basketball program displayed class and gave Humphries what he wanted, despite no coaching change for the Blue Devils.

Sources close to Humphries tell us that Humphries sat down with the Duke staff during the past couple of weeks to try and iron out the problem. However, despite the effort by the Duke staff, Humphries still wished for his release.

Humphries chose Duke over Kansas and Minnesota. He also has numerous other offers too. A source tells us that Minnesota and Indiana might be schools Humphries might look at.
