A 6-foot-9 small forward from Kinston (N.C.) High who ranks No. 4 in the class of 2015, Ingram had been considered a lean to Duke during the final few weeks of his recruitment. However, some late buzz suggesting that Kansas had made up ground made things somewhat interesting on Monday.
It all ended when Ingram made his pick of Duke official in front of a crowd gathered at his high school gym for a commitment ceremony.
Landing one of the premier offensive talents in the class of 2015 is no small deal for the defending national champions. Because of graduation and early defection to the NBA Draft, the Blue Devils have to replace their top four scorers and Ingram will surely be a big help.
Though he is quite skinny, Ingram is able to make up for a lack of strength because of his height and high level of skill. He handles the ball extremely well, is a dangerous jump shooter to beyond the three point line and he has a very good feel for scoring in the post. Ingram also possesses superior quickness for a player his size.
Now that Ingram has officially joined the fold, Duke is in possession of the top recruiting class for the second year in a row. He joins five-star prospects Derryck Thornton, Luke Kennard and Chase Jeter along with three-star big man Antonio Vrankovic in Mike Krzyzewski's 2015 recruiting haul.
