Drisdom Sets the Record Straight about Rumors

LAS VEGAS -- The rumors start in one gym, spill over into an adjacent one, and then after cell phones get dialed up, they are already on the other coast.
Throw the internet into the mix, and it's easy to see how rumors quickly gain credence as fact in our information hungry society.

So on late Wednesday night at the adidas Big Time Tournament, we could not help but wonder -- were the rumors about point guard Tim Drisdom committing to Utah true?
"I did not commit to Utah," Drisdom said emphatically after his L.A. Rockfish squad dismantled a talented but young Juice Crew squad from New York City. "It's very possible that it could happen, but I have not made any decisions yet. My parents and I are making the decision together and I am still considering all of my other options."
"That's where I am right now," Drisdom continued. "Utah could be a leader, but that's about it. I have NOT committed to anybody."
Drisdom, a 6-2 point guard from Calvary Chapel H.S. in California, played in both of the Rockfish's pool play games on Wednesday, even though he is hampered by a hyperextended meniscus.
A loss to the Atlanta Celtics on early Wednesday afternoon was followed by the squeezing of the Juice Crew that ended around midnight PST.
Drisdom has been offered by Utah, Southern California and Miami, and he said that Stanford is still in the process of evaluating him this summer.
"I will visit Utah soon, but I don't know when," Utah said. It has not been scheduled yet. I have to talk to my parents and see what is going on."
Drisdom is concerned that the rumors having him as locked up for Utah may restrict his college options.
"I still have other schools and something may come up," he explained. "Right now I am just trying to play and the rumor about Utah is wrong."
The Insiders Report will keep you posted on Drisdom in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
