Drexel Adds Pair

Drexel University in Philadelphia landed a pair of players in the past week -- one from the junior college ranks and another from the prep school landscape.
The Dragons picked up 5-11 point guard David Hilton of Chipola J.C. in Marianna, Fla., as well as 6-8 Jermaine Miller from the Storm King School in Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y.

Rivalshoops.com confirmed both commitments from the head coaches of each player.
Hilton, a native of New York City who prepped in Connecticut and spent a year at the University of Hawaii, picked Drexel over Hofstra.
Hilton had been slated to visit both programs this spring, but only visited Drexel before casting his lot with the Dragons.
"[Drexel Asst. Coach] Chuck Martin did a really good job of recruiting him," Chipola Head Coach Ryan Cross said. "He has the opportunity to play for Bruiser Flint and come in, play right away and contribute."
Hilton averaged roughly seven points and five assists per game for the Indians this past season.
Miller spent the past two years at the Storm King School after transferring in from Frederick Douglass Academy in New York City. Miller helped lead SKS to a NEPSAC Class B title earlier this month, averaging 21 points and 12 rebounds per game.
Storm King Head Coach Kevin Houston told Rivalshoops that Miller had considered taking three or four trips this spring, but committed to Drexel shortly after taking a visit to the school earlier this month.
"He had some good choices to make in terms of schools, but he wanted to go where he felt he would have the opportunity to play, and I think Drexel gives him that chance," Houston said. "He loved the coaching staff there, and Coaches Martin, Arnold and Flint put in a lot of energy to see him play."
Miller played both the four and five slots during the past few years at Storm King and with the 92nd Street YMCA program. He is a physical 235 pound low post presence who is not afraid to throw around his size in the low post.
"I think he is a four man type who will be a presence in the paint," Houston said. "What makes him unique is that he can step out beyond the three point line and knock it down consistently."
Both Hilton (nicknamed Jeep) and Miller plan to sign letters of intent this spring with Drexel. The spring signing period begins next month, and Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on the rash of spring signings as they occur, so stay tuned.
