Dozier Done Again

It’s done. The recruiting process for Robert Dozier is over. The 6-foot-8 forward from Lithonia (Ga.) High School decided to recommit to the program that he pledged to back in July of 2003. What a ride it’s been.
“I committed to Memphis,” Dozier said. “It’s final. I’m not going to go through it anymore.”

Dozier, who finished his high school career as the No. 83 ranked player in the class of 2004, verbally committed to the Tigers at the Nike All American camp last year but decided to re-open his decision, stating he rushed the process.
After visiting a number of schools, Dozier committed to the University of Georgia. He had a great senior year, going deep into the state playoffs. Everything was great until he had trouble getting into UGA.
He resurfaced back on the AAU circuit in the spring of this year and he said he was re-opening his recruitment. On Thursday, he shut the door again.
“I don’t want to be recruited again. That was just too much. Memphis was always the place where I wanted to go to anyways,” he said. “Coach Cal always told me that he wanted me no matter what.”
Dozier will take a prep season at Laurinburg (N.C.) Prep before going to Memphis in the summer.
