Dower schedules official visit

After his strong play in July Rivals150 prospect Sam Dower has even more school options to sift through. One decision has already been made, however, by the 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from Osseo (Minn.) High School. He has scheduled his first official visit.
With new offers coming in from Minnesota, Marquette, California and Penn State, Dower has already scheduled an official visit with Gonzaga, who offered Dower after he attended their elite camp.

"Hopefully in a week or so, Sam will narrow his list down to around five or seven schools," said Dower's travel team coach Marquis Watts of Net Gain Sports. "Then he can start scheduling visits. He already has one official set for Gonzaga the first weekend in September. Marquette and Minnesota might get unofficial visits in August, since they are so close. I really think Sam would like to have a final decision by the end of September."
Coach Watts also noted that several other schools are also in strong pursuit of Dower even though they have not yet offered.
"Arizona is really coming on strong since the decommitment of the Fresno kid (Greg Smith)," said Watts. "Arizona State and Washington are now trying to get in on him as well as Indiana, who watched him a lot in July."
A prospect who is continually improving, Dower put up some impressive numbers in July.
"He was our go-to guy in July," said Watts. "He hit threes, rebounded and did just about everything. We figured it out, and he averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds during the month."
