Dower earns high major offer

Coming off a productive spring and headed towards a busy June, emerging forward prospect Sam Dower has picked up his first high major offer.
Dower, 6-foot-9, 210-pounds from Osseo (Minn.) High School, now has an offer from Iowa to go along with offers from George Mason, Northern Iowa, Drake, Colorado State and St. Louis. Although Iowa is the only high major to have offered at this point, it is unlikely that Iowa will be the last high major to offer Dower.

"Gonzaga really likes him," said Dower's travel team coach Marquise Watts of Net Gain Sports. "Marquette is coming on strong. And Iowa State loved him when they saw him in Dallas."
Described by Coach Watts as being as wide open as can be, Watts has only visited the campuses of Iowa State and Northern Iowa. This June, he is set to see a number of campuses.
Unofficial visits are planned for Iowa, George Mason and Gonzaga, and Dower is planning to attend camps at Marquette, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Colorado State and St. Louis according to Dower.
Presently ranked No. 139 in the Rivals150, Dower is just beginning to tap into his potential.
"Big guys come on later than the guards," said Watts. "Sam is just starting to get that confidence. Before we played Team Philly this past weekend, I told him the only person who can stop him is himself. Then he went out there and scored our first 13 points in the game.
"He can score in so many ways. He makes threes, has a good left hand and right hand jump hook, is getting tip dunks and is starting to put the ball on the floor and go by people."
