Texas point guard Reger Dowell decided to jump on a big time offer on Monday and wasted little time ending his recruitment. The 6-foot-1 senior is headed to the Pac-10.

Dowell told Rivals.com that he accepted an offer to play at the University of Arizona.
"I was coming out of open gym and my pops told me that Arizona had offered a scholarship and he asked what do I think. I didn't have to think long. I'd love to go to Arizona. So he called coach Pennell and I pulled the trigger on a deal," Dowell said.
"They have been recruiting me for the last couple of months now and I've taken notice in their school and their program. I've watched Arizona the past couple of years and I've always enjoyed their style of play and enjoyed watching them. I thought that would be the best fit for me. It's point guard U."
Dowell, a one-time Alabama pledge, joins Solomon Hill and Mike Moser in Arizona's 2009 recruiting haul. Dowell said he is ready to jump into the tradition in Tucson.
"That is real exciting. I'd love to be a part of that great tradition of point guards and even more. They've had a great tradition of basketball and they've had a lot of great players come from there. I'd love to be part of their program and a family like that."
Dowell also strongly considered LSU, Cincinnati, Providence (offer) and Fresno State (offer).
"That's just a place if I had a chance to play at, I had to jump right on it," he said of the Wildcats.
