Dove Talks About His Decision

Marcus Dove's recruitment wound back and forth this summer and into the fall, but two of the bigger constants in his picture were Oklahoma State and Arizona State.
So it came as little surprise last week when Dove chose OSU over ASU after taking fall official visits to both Stillwater, Okla., and Tempe, Ariz.

Dove visited Oklahoma State from Oct. 17-19. He visited Arizona State from Sept. 27-29.
"On my official visit to Oklahoma State, they really made me feel at home," Dove said. "Like I was a part of the family and a part of the team."
"Basketball is so big there," Dove continued. "They sell out so many games, like over 200 games, so you can't beat that and the atmosphere is terrific for basketball.
Dove said that the chance to play for a coach like Eddie Sutton, whom he expects to eventually be in the Basketball Hall of Fame, was another opportunity he found difficult to pass up.
Dove kicked off a very successful summer of 2002 at the adidas ABCD Camp, where he emerged as one of the top sleepers of the event. He also played quite well for the H-Squad/Belmont Shore program at a pair of late July tournaments on the West Coast.
What sets Dove apart from other players his size is his ability to play comfortably out on the wing.
"Oklahoma State sees me as a three," Dove said. "They like the fact that I can dribble and shoot, and if a a guy is smaller than me, I can post him up, and if he's bigger than me, I can take him to the hole. I'm versatile."
Dove, who has already achieved a qualifying SAT score as a high school junior, is expected to sign with the Cowboys during the early signing period.
