Douglas-Roberts: One of 2005s Finest

Chris Douglas-Roberts, presently the No. 41 player in the class of 2005, is on his way to becoming one of the top players in his class. The 6-foot-5, 170-pound combo guard, playing for The Family this summer, listed eight schools he is considering in an interview with Rivals.com during the Boo Williams invitational.
“I am super wide open right now,” said Douglas-Roberts, who plays high school ball at Cass Tech in Detroit. “The ones that are recruiting me a lot and I am really interested in are Kansas, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Marquette, UCLA, and Louisville. I plan on narrowing down my list after the summer.”

All eight schools have already offered Douglas-Roberts, who is such an attractive prospect because of his length, skill, and basketball mind set.
“I just want to win by any means,” he said. “I just want to help my team.”
Douglas-Roberts, who certainly has the mentality and skill of a point guard, sees himself playing point guard in college.
“All the colleges are recruiting me as a point guard and that is what I want to play,” he said. “Passing, that is the best thing I do on the court. Then I score when I have to. My outside shot is the area I am trying to get better at.”
Douglas-Roberts can definitely handle and pass, but he is also a very good rebounder. Although slender, he has a tremendous knack at being around the ball and knows how to use his body effectively. He is also very good at finishing tough shots in transition.
He does need to build his body up, as the tough tournament schedule did begin to take a toll on his slender frame.
Besides playing with The Family, Douglas-Roberts will also attend the Nike Camp, the NBA Players Camp, and the USA Youth Development Festival.
