Douglas-Roberts Down To Three Schools

Chris Douglas-Roberts, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound combo guard from Northwestern High School in Detroit, Mich., recently trimmed his list of schools and only three remain. The No. 51 ranked player in the class of 2005 indicated that he would like to officially visit one of the schools on his list this weekend, and then put an end to his recruitment a few days after the visit.
“Miami-FL, Memphis and Arizona are the three finalists,” Douglas-Roberts said. “All of the coaches’ have been here for in-home visits, so I just need to figure out what school to visit this weekend and then make my decision. I do plan to visit one of the schools on my list, but I don’t know what school that will be.

“I would like to have a decision made shortly after I return home from whatever school I visit,” he added. “I don’t have a favorite right now and I don’t really know what school I will visit. I just need to sit-down and think about all of my options.”
There was a time when it looked like Georgia Tech was the team to beat for the No. 15 ranked shooting guard. However, Douglas-Roberts decided to look in a different direction after the coaching staff had to reschedule their in-home visit.
“Georgia Tech was supposed to come in for an in-home visit last week, but they had to reschedule the visit,” Douglas-Roberts said. “I just felt it would be for the best to look in another direction. I am trying to move forward in my recruitment, and I hope to start making some decisions about my future real soon.”
After transferring from Cass Tech High School at the beginning of the year, it appears that Douglas-Roberts will be able to practice at the start of the season with his new Northwestern teammates.
There was some concern that he might have to sit out for an extended period of time, but that no longer appears to be the case.
