Douglas Has An Offer

One of the top two sport athletes in the Peach state, Harry Douglas from Jonesboro (GA) High School is receiving interest from schools throughout the South and has received his first scholarship offer.
"UAB has offered me but right now they are not one of my favorites," he said. "Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Marshall, Ohio State and Florida are my top schools and although none of them have offered I don't think it will be much longer."

Douglas, 6-foot, 160-pounds, is being recruited as a wide receiver and shooting guard by his favorites and indicated that he hoped to play both sports on the collegiate level.
"I've checked with all of the schools and they have told me that it was ok for me to sign a football scholarship and then walk-on the basketball team," Douglas said. "Basketball is probably my favorite but I love to play both sports and that is what I plan to do when I am in college."
Earlier this year Douglas unofficially visited the University of Georgia and he came away impressed.
"Athens is just a good environment for sports. I visited them for the Clemson game and had they treated me really well," he said. "Also they are really recruiting my brother Toney hard for basketball and we would like to play together on the next level."
Lou Holtz and the South Carolina Gamecocks have also received Douglas for an unofficial visit and have emerged as one of his favorites.
"I went to see South Carolina and Georgia play and that was a good visit as well," Douglas said. "Coach Holtz is a really great person and they are working hard to improve the basketball program."
Last season Douglas averaged 22 points and five rebounds from his shooting guard position and hauled in 20 passes for 470 yards and six touchdowns from his wide receiver position on the football team.
