Douby Update

Quincy Douby, the outstanding 6-3, 170 pound shooting guard from the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., could be on the verge of consummating his earlier oral commitment to the Rutgers men's basketball program.
Douby, who scored 25 points on Wednesday as the Chancellors knocked off Harvard J.V. in their opener, is expected to make a visit to Rutgers early next week.

STM Head Coach Jere Quinn told Rivalshoops.com that Douby is awaiting a result from the SAT he took on Nov. 2. It will be his first official test score result, and once it posts, Douby will be able to take an official visit to Rutgers.
Quinn is hoping that Douby will have the score back by Friday, Nov. 22.
"If that's the case, he is going to go to Rutgers on Monday and Tuesday, and then if he likes it, he's going to go," Quinn said. "He's already signed the papers, it's just a case of whether he gives them in or not."
Of course, he could also take an unofficial visit to Rutgers as well if the score hasn't posted by early next week.
Assuming Douby visits Rutgers next week and has a productive trip, he will likely just hand the papers over to the staff, Quinn said.
Douby, who had signed with Hofstra last fall, opted to attend prep school this year and reopen his recruitment. He caught a lot of people off guard when he orally committed to Rutgers back in September, and rumors have swirled since that time that he might be hedging on his pledge to the Scarlet Knights.
Douby's upcoming trip to Rutgers could be all the talented sharpshooter needs to make up his mind.
"We need to put this thing to bed, one way or another," Quinn said.
Rivalshoops.com will stay on top of the story, and we'll let you know when and if Douby finalizes his decision, so stay tuned.
