Dorsey Transferring

Richard Dorsey, a powerful 6-7, 230 pound power forward from Douglas H.S. in Baltimore, Md., is likely to transfer to Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, North Carolina. Dorsey is expected to join his teammate Tyler Smith from the Baltimore Select AAU program.
Previously, Dorsey told us that he had been in contact with West Nottingham Academy in Maryland about attending that school in the fall, as well as Mt. Zion Academy in North Carolina. Dorsey told us this past weekend at the Three Stripes event he is likely to be at Mount Zion. He is also now a member of the 2004 class.

Going into last summer, Dorsey was thought to be a member of the Class of 2003. But in recent weeks, the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com has learned that Dorsey has exhausted his high school eligibility, and needed to attend either prep school or junior college in the fall. He chose prep school to keep his four years of eligibility alive on the college level.
A southpaw with a strong frame and good athleticism, Dorsey can be a man-child in the low post and isn't afraid to be physical in the paint. Several junior colleges had been in touch with Dorsey if he decided to take that route. Chipola, Santa Clara, Dundalk and Tallahassee were some of the names he threw out when asked about the two-year schools recruiting him.
Dorsey told us that he is interested in Providence, Massachusetts, LaSalle and Connecticut. "I am open," Dorsey said. "It's early in my recruiting so I will keep my options open."
