RAMSEY, N.J. -- Karl Anderson tipped in a critical free throw miss in the final 15 seconds to lift Don Bosco Prep to a 64-61 victory over DePaul H.S. on Tuesday night in a New Jersey State Parochial A North playoff match.
With the Ironmen clinging to a 62-59 lead, DePaul fouled senior guard Mike Lauricella with 17.6 seconds to play. Lauricella stepped to the line and missed the front end, but the rebound caromed off a Don Bosco player and right to Anderson, who laid the ball in for a five point lead. And that was essentially the ball game.

The Ironmen had grabbed the lead for good on a three pointer by Lauricella with 1:30 that made it 60-57.
DePaul's Max Schafer drove the lane and scored to pull the Spartans to within a point, but Don Bosco's Mike Wasilenko connected on a pair of free throws with 41.6 seconds left to push the lead back to three.
Schafer came down on DePaul's next possession and misfired on a three pointer from the right corner that could have knotted the game at 62. That's when the Spartans fouled Lauricella, and the plan would have worked had DePaul been able to corral the loose ball off the free throw miss.
Wasilenko paced the Ironmen with 22 points, while junior swingman Trevoy Chambers added 19. Anderson, who hit what turned out to be the game's biggest basket, finished with 12 points.
DePaul's Schafer led all scorers with 26 points, getting many of his points on tough drives to the basket. The Spartans' 6-10 junior big man John Kelly added 12 in the loss.
