Dominic James Makes Decision
The dominos are beginning to fall in the class of 2005 as players announce their college decisions. When Michigan State received a verbal pledge from point guard Travis Walton last week, Dominic James knew he was next. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound called a press conference at his Richmond (Ind.) High School and made his intentions known.

James, who is the No. 74 player in the country according to Rivals.com, has announced he will attend Marquette at a press conference Friday afternoon. He was considering Michigan State and Purdue but when Walton, a point guard from Lima, Ohio committed to the Spartans, James was down to the Boilermakers and the Golden Eagles.
One of the major factors was his relationship with the Marquette head coach Tom Crean.
“It all starts with Coach Crean and my relationship with the coaches. That is the most important aspect,” James told Rivals.com National Basketball Scout Jerry Meyer at the USA Youth Festival last week. “I really like Coach Crean, and they have also had a lot of success with guards under 6-foot.”
James is the first recruit for Marquette in 2005 and he’s a good one to boot. He’s as quick as it gets and his defensive skills are amongst one of the best on the ball stoppers in the nation.
