"I don't feel any pressure," Williams said. "I don't have a long list so there are only a few schools that I speak to."
Williams said he has not completely closed his list down. "I think I have been contacted by everyone I wanted to be contacted by," Williams said. "I am very happy with the list I have."
Williams' list is Illinois, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Maryland. "I have never seen those schools," Williams said. "So I want to take some official visits before I decide on a school."
Williams said the only other school he might have considered was North Carolina. "But they dropped out after getting Raymond Felton," Williams said. "But I have four great schools on my list. They all like to play uptempo so I am very interested in that."
Williams, a likely business major when he moves to the college level, did indicate that Illinois and Georgia Tech, in no particular order, are his top two schools. "The reasons I like Illinois and Georgia Tech so much is the coaches," Williams said. "I really like coach (Bill) Self and coach (Paul) Hewitt. They have made me feel comfortable with their programs."
Deron also told us he is considering Iowa State and may want to visit that school down the road. "I am first going to concentrate on my summer," Williams said. "I am going to be at the Denton, Texas, Vegas, and then California."
