Deron Williams: Expects To Take Visits
Deron Williams, a point guard with terrific court vision, plays at the Colony High School in Texas. At 6-3, 195 pounds, he is strong and athletic.
Williams, a likely business major when he moves to the college level, told us he is open but has four top schools on his list -- Georgia Tech, Illinois, Maryland, and Tennessee.

"I think I am going to visit all four schools in the Fall," Williams said. "I want to do that before I make a decision on my school."
Williams did indicate that Illinois and Georgia Tech, in no particular order, are his top two schools. "The reasons I like Illinois and Georgia Tech so much is the coaches," Williams said. "I really like coach (Bill) Self and coach (Paul) Hewitt. They have made me feel comfortable with their programs."
Deron told us the four schools on his list fit his style of play. "I like to push the ball up the court," Williams said. "I like to play uptempo basketball."
Deron also told us he is considering Iowa State and may want to visit that school down the road. "I am first going to concentrate on my summer," Williams said. "I am going to be at the ABCD camp, Denton, Texas, Vegas, and then California."
