Derek Cline Has Interest More Butler CC Updates

Butler County C.C. in Kansas has a trio of sophomore guards drawing Division I interest this fall.
Derek Cline (right), a 5-11 two guard from Wichita, Kan., and Chris Exilus, a 6-2 point guard transfer from Virginia Tech, both have some looks this September according to Butler County Asst. Coach Eric Matthews.

Cline, a deadeye shooter who averaged 11 points per game on the Jayhawk West champ Grizzlies last season, has Marshall and Central Florida on him hard.
"Derek has gotten into better shape and has really improved over the summer," Matthews said.
As for Exilus, a native of Toronto, Canada, he is hoping to bounce back on the Division I level next year after a one-year pit stop in the JUCO ranks.
Matthews said that SMU is showing very heavy interest in Exilus this fall.
"Chris is a strong penetrator who needs to continue working on his point guard skills," Matthews said. "He has many of the physical tools that you would want in a guard."
LeAndre Peete, a 6-2 quickster who is an effective rebounder on the offensive glass, also has drawn some early Division I interest.
Matthews said that Texas Southern is already on Peete, who averaged five points per game as a freshman last year. He is a native of Wichita.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on all three players' recruitments this fall and into the winter, so stay tuned.
