Deon Dixon Opens Up Recruiting Race

Although he had signed with Clemson of the Atlantic Coast Conference out of high school, 6-8 small forward De'on Dixon of Tallahassee C.C. in Florida has decided to reopen his recruiting process this fall.
"He has changed his mind about Clemson, and right now, Marshall and Western Kentucky, people like that are in on him," TCC Head Coach Eddie Barnes said. "He has decided not to sign early and will wait until the spring to decide."

Dixon did not score a ton this past weekend at the Panhandle Classic, but his skill and mobility for a 6-8 player have always intrigued a lot of Division I coaches. He moves like a guard and has a penchant for playing out on the wing.
"I think the big question with De'on is that if he shows he can give a little toughness, I think he could end up going higher than mid," Barnes said. "Right now, he's athletic enough, and you are looking at a guy who can play three/four at close to 6-9."
Barnes said that some high majors have inquired about Dixon this fall but that the mid-major schools have shown the most interest in the Fayetteville, N.C. native.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on Dixon's recruitment this winter, so stay tuned to this site as the season unfolds.
