PHILADELPHIA -- One of the more notable stock-risers from the first session of Philly Live 2021, Denver Anglin made his mark on the event and showed why he already has a handful of major scholarship offers in tow. Following the event, the sharp-shooting guard talked to Rivals.com about his recruitment and his plans to make a college choice.

ON WHERE HIS RECRUITMENT STANDS

“I’m leaving it pretty open for everybody. All the schools that have been contacting me are great and I’m leaving it open this summer to give everyone an opportunity. But schools that have offered are Stanford, Xavier just offered. Then, Northwestern, Georgetown, UConn and Providence.”

ON HIS RECENT ViSITS

“So I’ve taken a bunch recently. I went to Providence on the 4th (of June). I had an official visit with them. I had an official visit with Northwestern on the 7th and another official visit with Stanford on the 11th then I took an unofficial to UConn last week.”

ON WHICH TRIP STOOD OUT

“All of them were actually really cool because they were new. I’ve never been out to the spots that I traveled to. Like, Chicago -- the Evanston era -- that was cool. We got out there on a nice day. Usually, it’s cold but we got there on a great weekend. Stanford was cool, too. I’d never been out to Cali before. The campus was beautiful. There was good energy there. They were graduating so we got to see a little bit of the campus life.”

ON GEORGETOWN

“I’ve been talking to them for a long time. They offered early in my career. I like talking to [Patrick Ewing] and Coach [Akbar] Waheed. The other coaches are cool, too. It’s been a great process.”

ON HIS TIMETABLE FOR A COMMITMENT

“I just wanted to take these visits now. Then, I’ll go play Peach Jam and see what happens after that. We get five more in August, so I might take some more if there are other schools I want to see. I’ll probably make a decision in the fall period.”

RIVALS REACTION: An elite shooter from 3-point range, Anglin is making a case to be part of the Rivals150 when it next refreshes. That much is clear. His recruitment, however, is a bit murkier. Anglin may see his offer list grow in July, so projecting is difficult. That said, the standout guard seems most comfortable with the Georgetown staff, who has been recruiting him for years. What that means for the big picture is unclear at this juncture, as his Northwestern visit also seemed to have an impact.
